Persona Certificate in Counselling Skills |
If you are interested in developing your "people skills" this foundation course in counselling skills should suit you. If you have a background in health, education or social care and want to enhance your listening skills and understanding of interpersonal relationships in a work setting then this programme will meet your needs. On the other hand, you may be someone just interested in people and what makes them tick want to become a better communicator in which case you will find this course is an excellent place to start. The course is interactive, practical and grounded in the Person-Centred approach that emphasises the importance of relationships and open communication. You will be working with experienced tutors and alongside fellow course participants. For those wishing to go on to apply for further training in Therapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy this course provides a solid foundation. Successful completion of the Certificate gives access to enter the Persona M.Sc./Diploma in Counselling (validated by the University of Stirling). Timing and location of the Certificate Programme.
The Certificate is organised into four distinct modules and can be completed in 6 months. The present course starts in February 2012 with a planned completion by the end of June 2012. Each of the 4 modules involves three evening sessions (6-9 p.m.) and one Saturday (9.30-5.30 p.m.). The Certificate will be undertaken in Motherwell. (We are willing to provide the programme in other locations but this will depend on sufficient numbers of people) Cost
The cost for the Certificate is £640 (£160 per module). This covers all course fees, training materials and refreshments and assistance with the costs of Saturday travel.
